Maxi knit dresses: As dresses remain the second most wanted category (after sneakers), searches for ribbed knit maxi dresses continue to rise and are up 13% week-on-week. In terms of colours, nudes and earth tones are the most in demand. The most wanted maxi knit dresses this week include Cult Gaia’s Serita dress, Jacquemus’ La Robes Jacques striped dress (on sale) and Anna Quan’s Emory rib knit dress (sold out).
Ballet flats: Searches for ballet flats have seen a significant increase since the start of June and are currently up 24% week-on-week. Chanel’s classic ballet flats are the most wanted style over the past week while other popular brands include Tory Burch and Ferragamo. When it comes to the shape, square-toe ballet flats in particular are trending, having the highest rise in demand since the start of June (+50%).
Square neck: Fashion searches related to the keyword “square neck” have been growing consistently, up 61% month-on-month. Tops, dresses and swimwear are the most searched for product categories while the term “square neck puff sleeve” has been searched over 1000 times this month. Terms such as “square neck tank top” and “square neck smock dress” are on the rise as well.
Zebra print: Over the last three months searches for zebra print have increased 46% with a focus on ankle boots and trousers. Khaite’s and Marine Serre’s ankle boots are the most viewed items.
Safari jackets: Searches for safari jackets have spiked 85% week-on-week, with those that include belts receiving the most views. “Short sleeved” is the term most commonly used alongside these searches.

Cycling: There have been more than 8000 searches for biker shorts over the past two weeks, making them the most wanted shorts after denim and bermuda. Globally, the most searched styles include: “cycling shorts with pockets”, “high waisted biker shorts” and “ribbed cycling shorts”.
Tennis: Searches for tennis-inspired outfits have risen since the beginning of June. From the start of the month, demand is up 33% for white pleated tennis skirts with Nike’s Court Victory Tennis Skirt being the most viewed style. Interest for tennis court shoes remains strong, increasing an additional 21% this week. Searches for visors have also increased by 32% since May. Most viewed brands include Dior, Gucci, Prada and Nike.
Gardening: This week shoppers in the US and the UK are turning to gardening-inspired outfits. Searches for straw hats went up 27% week-on-week while demand for bucket hats has increased 16% week-on-week. Searches for straw bags are also rising: currently up 12% month-on-month. Searches for dungarees have increased by 29% week-on-week. Shoppers are mainly looking for loose fit linen dungarees as well as short denim dungarees. Interest in dungaree dresses is also growing.
Pride Pride month continues to influence shoppers globally: searches that include the word “rainbow” increased 34% week-on-week. Over the past week, Crocs’ Platform Rainbow Clog has been the most viewed product under the rainbow colors category and is currently sold out. Other trending products include Converse’s Pride Chuck Taylor, Vans’ rainbow sole sneakers, Ganni’s rainbow jeans (on sale), Dr. Martens Pride patent boots and Teva’s Universal Pride sandals.

Cut Outs and Backless Dresses: While interest for cut out pieces has been consistently high since May, searches for “open back dresses” in particular are up 18% since the start of June. Shoppers are viewing backless satin dresses as well as voluminous open back dresses. Searches have increased by 70% and 55% respectively over the last month. Sir the Label’s Alena Open-Back dress and Cult Gaia’s Serita dress have been popular in searches over the past couple of weeks.

Anklets and Chain Detail: Searches for anklets are up 55% month-on-month. In particular, shoppers are looking for ‘beaded’, ‘chain’ and ‘shell’ anklets. The most viewed brands over the past week include Missoma, Alighieri and Anissa Kermiche. Searches for “chain strap heels” have also increased significantly and are up 30% week-on-week. Most in demand are those by Jimmy Choo, Miu Miu and Tom Ford.

Bermuda Denim Shorts: Demand for knee-length denim shorts rose 28% since the start of this month. White denim and light blue wash styles are proving popular; while top trending brands in searches include Frame and Levis.

Boxer Shorts: Searches for boxer shorts went up 13% this week. With more women wearing them lately, searches including the term “boxer shorts for women” increased 25% week-on-week. 

Fruity Prints:If we look at the last month year on year, searches for fruit print pieces are up 31%. Shoppers are mainly looking for ‘cherry’ and ‘lemon’ prints while the most popular product categories are dresses, tops and swimwear. Searches for fruit jewelry have increased 9% week-on-week. Following the release of Harry Styles’s music video for “Watermelon Sugar,” last month fashion searches for the keyword “watermelon” increased 11% in less than 24h and demand is still growing strong.

Cult Gaia Serita Dress: Numerous models and influencers shared posts wearing Cult Gaia’s Serita dress in May, causing searches for the brand to spike 10% month-on-month. Over the past week, the Serita ribbed knit dress has been the most searched dress on Lyst, while searches for “Cult Gaia dresses” increased 41% week-on-week.

Pride Collections: Searches for “pride Converse” increased 45% in 24 hours following the brand’s 5th pride collection launch. Teva has also launched a rainbow-printed sandal for pride month and there has been a 17% rise in searches for “Teva sandals” week-on-week.

Cut Outs: Searches for cut-out tops are up 60% month-on-month. Demand for “one-shoulder” and “one-sleeve” tops have collectively increased by 29% over the past week. Most searched-for styles include ribbed, cut-out and ruffled, with white, black, beige and yellow being the most in-demand colours.

Men’s Nylon: Searches for men’s nylon shorts have increased by 83% since mid-May. The most wanted brands include Stone Island, Patagonia, Prada and Champion.

More chunky sandals: Demand for chunky sandals is on the rise – searches are up 66% since the beginning of May. While Birkenstock Arizona and Prada Nomad sandals have consistently shown a high volume of searches over the past month, other brands have seen a surge over the last week: Suicoke, The North Face and Dr Martens.

Gingham: Over the last week searches for gingham dresses have increased 49% with red and yellow gingham being the most wanted. Searches for the gingham print in general increased 22% month-on-month, while gingham face masks are particularly popular in the US and the UK.

Muscle Tees: Global demand for muscle tees and padded-shoulder T-shirts have been consistently high on Lyst over the past couple of months (+57% since April). Demand is steadily growing and this week we saw an additional 15% increase in searches. White is the most wanted color followed by black, grey and yellow.

#LetTheSunChainIn: Searches for the color yellow increased 16% week-on-week, while Camille Charriere launched a charity initiative using the hashtag and promoting the color, in collaboration with The Frankie Shop. Dresses remain the most wanted category and searches for yellow T-shirts and shirts are rising. They are currently up 18% collectively week-on-week.

Sunglasses and chains: The most wanted sunglasses over the past month include cat-eye styles like Céline and Saint Laurent, oversized shield shapes like Gucci and Dior as well as square slim shades styles like Jacquemus and Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh. Searches for sunglasses chains are up 16% since the beginning of May. Top viewed brands for eyewear chains include: Quay, ASOS and Lele Sadoughi.

Hawaiian shirts: There have been more than 7,000 searches for Hawaiian floral inspired outfits over the past month. Hawaiian shirts are by far the most popular product category – with searches up 44% since the beginning of this month.

Bucket hats:Searches are up 36% month-on-month while the most commonly searched brands are Prada, Gucci and Stussy.

Bodycon dresses: Looking at the last month year-on-year, searches for bodycon dresses are up 35%. In particular people are searching for ‘ribbed’ and ‘long’ bodycon dresses.

Melania’s influence: Searches for Gucci spiked 18% in 24 hours, after Melania Trump wore a white Gucci coat on Memorial Day.

Face Masks: Searches for face masks remain high, they have increased 510% since the beginning of the year to the start of May. As an alternative to face masks, shoppers are also looking for scarves: page views for scarves are up 33% in the past month year on year, at a time when the seasonal demand for this category would be much lower.

Watermelon Fashion: In less than 24hours following the release of Harry Styles’s music video for “Watermelon Sugar,” searches for the key word “watermelon” have increased 11%. Meanwhile, searches for Bode shirts have increased 31% and Hawaiian-themed pieces 16%, while searches for crochet pieces have increased 6%.

Men in Pink: Searches for pink menswear pieces are up 124% since the beginning of May. The most popular categories for pink menswear are sweats, T-shirts and sneakers.

Evil Eye Jewellery: People have been searching for evil eye jewelry likely inspired by the necklace Meghan Markle wore on a recent zoom call – searches have risen 58% month on month.

Wrap Dresses: As searches for dresses are up 13% week-on-week, wrap dresses have seen the greatest spike in demand (11%).

“This week, summery pieces such as swimwear, shorts and sandals have seen a jump in searches, suggesting that fashion lovers are determined to enjoy the good weather in style, albeit from home. Whether seen as additional protection gear or as a way to distract from face masks, searches for oversize sunglasses have also spiked. Regardless of the current situation, shoppers are showing optimism and positivity through their wardrobes, and it’s clear that they are ready to embrace a new season.”


  • Swimwear 2020: There is growing demand for swimwear as summer approaches. One-piece swimsuits are currently the most popular style: searches are up 21% month on month. Those that have a sporty feel are most wanted, likely down to the rise in demand for activewear.  Other popular styles include crochet bikini tops (+17% month on month) and high waisted bikini bottoms (+17% month on month). Tie-dye and animal prints are rising in demand. Most wanted swimsuits of the week include: Zimmermann’s Zinnia wrap one-piece, Fendi’s logo swimsuit, Mikoh’s Lanai bottoms, Off-White’s one-piece swimsuit, Marysia’s Broadway bikini (in white).
  • The colour White: Fashion searches related to the colour white have seen a significant increase of 52% month-on-month with both men and women shoppers searching actively for it. Most searched for product categories alongside the color white for female shoppers include dresses, tops and loose pants. On the other hand, male shoppers are more interested in white oversized hoodies, tees and shorts. Searches for white sneakers have also increased by 12% week-on-week.
  • Chunky sandals: Pageviews of chunky dad sandals have been on the rise over the last couple of weeks and are currently up 36% week-on-week. While demand for Prada and Chanel chunky sandals continues to be strong this summer, we have also seen a growing interest for other brands such as Chaco, Cecilie Bahnsen and Dr Martens since the beginning of May.
  • Sunglasses: Searches for sunglasses are up 28% month-on-month. Top sunglasses brands include Gucci, Ray-Ban, Celine and Tom Ford. Aviator sunglasses have been particularly popular with male shoppers, while female shoppers have been searching for cat-eye and oversize styles. 
  • Shorts: Searches for shorts continue to rise, in particular denim. Over the last week there has also been a 40% spike in searches for Bermuda shorts.
  • Celebrating Prom: High-school students appear to be planning celebrations for prom – searches for prom dresses have more than quadrupled over the last month with “long” and “off the shoulder” most sought after. Searches for “graduation jumpsuits” have also increased 73% month-on-month.

By Country

  • In the US, shoppers are looking for swimwear, chunky sandals and jumpsuits. Birkenstocks are the most viewed product of the week.
  • In the UK, following Nike’s Air Max 95, Ugg’s Fluff Yeah is the second most viewed product of the week. Shoppers in London are looking for New Balance sneakers, Moncler jackets and baseball caps. Stone Island’s balaclava is rising in demand. 
  • In Australia, following the cancellation of Australian Fashion Week, searches for local brands are increasing: Dion Lee (+30% week on week), Camilla and Marc (+21% week on week) and P.E Nation (+15% week on week) are the most viewed brands of the week. Other popular brands include St. Agni, Venroy, Ksubi and Aje.
  • In Canada, searches for bandanas, likely as an alternative to face masks, are increasing.
  • In Germany, searches for jeans have started to increase again: denim is currently the most popular category. This week, the Nike x Ambush line is rising in demand. 
  • In Spain, shoppers are looking for short-sleeve T-shirts and small bags.
  • In France, searches for sandals, dresses, shorts and swimsuits have all gone up. Also, searches for small bags, from brands like Jacquemus and Longchamp, have increased.
  • In Italy, shoppers are looking for sneakers and T-shirts. Palm Angels is the most popular brand.
  • In the Netherlands, searches for shopper bags and polo T-shirts are rising.
