Son of Adidas founder and president of Adidas France, it's no surprise that Horst Dassler followed his family footsteps into the sportswear industry. Inspired by the 1972 Munich Summer Games, at which Mark Spitz won his historic 7 gold medals and set a number of world records, Dassler founded Arena, a brand dedicated to high-performance swimwear. With iconic products including the Skinfit, an ultra-lightweight second-skin type fabric, and the Flyback, swimsuits designed with thin straps to create larger shoulder openings, Arena quickly became a leader in the field. Today, it's still worn by many of the world's top athletes.
