Women's Purple Perennial Blossom Backless Maxi Dress

The Tale of Perennial Blossom A full-length cotton dress, hand-dyed in earthy brown, cut with a deep open back and short puff sleeves. The pattern is drawn from waterlily seed pods - the part of the flower nobody photographs, all round forms and clustered seeds. It is applied by hand in wax before dyeing, so the motif sits slightly differently on every piece. That variation is the point; it is how you tell hand batik from a print. 100% cotton, dyed and sewn in Sri Lanka. An occasion dress that does not behave like one - flat sandals and bare skin in summer, a fine knit underneath and boots when it cools. Hand wash cold, separately, for the first three washes - hand-dyed batik can release a little colour at first. Use a mild pH-neutral detergent. Do not bleach, do not soak, do not tumble dry. Dry in the shade, never in direct sun. Press on a medium heat on the reverse. Cotton 100% Colour: purple
