Women's Black Bow Back Long Sleeve Velvet Mini Dress

Velvet fabric with a dense, short pile that absorbs light rather than reflecting it - the surface shifts subtly as you move, giving depth without shine The real detail is at the back: a bow sits at the nape, adding a considered focal point that keeps the front clean and understated with its square neckline Bell-flared sleeves widen gradually from elbow to wrist, giving the arms a graceful, swept silhouette rather than a fitted finish Cut to mini length with a gently flared skirt that skims rather than clings, sitting comfortably above the knee with room to move The elastane in the velvet composition means the dress holds its shape through the bodice while allowing ease - no stiffness, no pulling The bow at the back does something clever here - it turns what could read as a simple, covered-up mini into something worth a second look. From the front, the square neck and long sleeves keep things refined; it's only when you turn around that the dressing detail reveals itself. The skirt has a slight swing to it as you walk, and the velvet pile catches the light differently depending on the angle, so the dress does its own work in a dimly lit room. Style it as the model does, with delicate drop earrings to let the neckline breathe. Block-heeled mules or pointed courts both work well. This is the kind of dress that earns its place at a Christmas party, a milestone birthday dinner, or a festive evening out - polished enough to feel considered, but never overdone. | Dorothy Perkins Women's Bow Back Long Sleeve Velvet Mini Dress in Black | Size: 8 Colour: black
