A black silk blouse should be handled very gently to protect both the delicate fibres and the colour. It’s best to hand-wash in cold water with a detergent made for silk or delicates, moving it gently without rubbing or wringing; if the label says dry clean only, follow that instead. To prevent fading, keep it inside out and avoid soaking for too long. After washing, press out excess water with a towel and let it air dry on a hanger away from direct sunlight. Avoid tumble drying.
