Women's Black Velvet Tailored Wide Leg Trouser

Wide leg silhouette cut from velvet - the fabric carries a soft pile that catches the light as you move, giving the leg a subtle richness without any embellishment needed. A deep front pleat at the waistband sets the width of the leg from the hip, so the trouser falls in a clean, unbroken sweep all the way to the floor. The cotton-elastane composition keeps the velvet breathable and soft against the skin, making it genuinely wearable across a long evening rather than just for the first hour. At approximately 82cm in length, the hem grazes the floor on a 5'9" frame - ideal for wearing with a heeled sandal or strappy mule to let the full leg length do the work. The high waist and tailored cut through the seat give the trouser a structured hold, so it sits with intention rather than draping loosely. These trousers earn their place as the foundation of a considered occasion outfit. The velvet pile and wide leg carry enough presence on their own, which means the styling above the waist can stay restrained. The matching velvet cropped jacket worn by the model is the most direct route - it turns the pairing into a sharp co-ord with a clear point of view. For a different occasion, swap the jacket for a fitted silk or satin blouse tucked in at the waist, and let the trouser's volume speak. Strappy heeled sandals are the right choice here; anything too heavy underfoot will interrupt the length. This is a trouser built for evenings with a degree of ceremony - a wedding, a formal dinner, a graduation - where the expectation is to look composed and considered. The velvet texture ensures it reads as a deliberate choice rather than a dressed-up everyday piece. | Karen Millen Velvet Tailored Wide Leg Trouser in Black | Size 6 Colour: black
