Established in 1894 by Simeon Simpson, Daks began its early years as a bespoke tailor in London. Mass producing quality tailoring for the first time in the world, Simpson became instantly successful.
Passing the business down to his son in 1934, Simpson Suits pioneered the self-supporting trouser, a huge step that made belts and braces unnecessary.
This revolutionary development changed the history of men’s tailoring and sportswear considerably. The company changed its name to mark this revolution: paying homage to its founding father “Dad” combined with Simpson Slacks “Dacks”.
