Known as ‘the architect of fashion’ for his beautifully and meticulously structured suits and garments, the late Italian designer Gianfranco Ferré made his name creating collections that were filled with the bold shapes and strong colours that were strongly influenced by his early travels through India and an academic degree in architecture from Milan. Following the fashion rules of simplicity and clean lines, Ferré’s distinctive garments typify the ‘uncontaminated’ style of dressing that he became famous for.
