French luxury goods company Longchamp was founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain. The brand began by creating leather coverings for smoking paraphernalia, by 1955 they had expanded to produce small leather goods.
It wasn’t long before Longchamp became famous for their classic lightweight travel products. In 1993 the brand introduced its now infamous ‘Le Pilage’ line, foldable bags made of vinyl with a leather handle and trim. Recent designer collaborations and a advertising campaign with Kate Moss have taken the brand into the 21st century in style.
