According to Greek mythology, when Odysseus resisted her song, Parthenope gave herself to the sea and was carried to the shore where the ancient city would rise; centuries later, her image appeared on the city's coinage as an emblem of its identity. Recast in brass and plated with 18kt gold, the ancient coin becomes a sculptural pendant that carries the memory of voice, place and origin. Handmade in Istanbul, it is designed to be worn as a reminder that a voice, even when refused, can still found a shore.
