Acne delivers a wide range of Winter outerwear for every situation. Whether you prefer simple and easy-to-wear options like the single-breasted overcoat, long coats that look equally good dressed up or down, or more casual options like a parka or duffle, you’ll find a style to suit in this collection.
Available in a variety of colours and designs, Acne's coats are typically made from premium materials like fur, wool and cotton to ensure a quality finish to each piece. Depending on the design, the label’s cover-ups can be worn over casual and formal outfits alike.
Before attempting to clean wool, we would always recommend checking the garment’s care label to ensure the cleaning method you plan to use will not cause shrinkage. If your wool item is structured, such as a blazer, suit, or coat, then we recommend to spot clean. Otherwise, most wool can be either hand washed, or washed in the machine on a gentle cycle of 30°C or less, using a mild PH neutral detergent and turned inside out first. To minimize the risk of shrinkage, it is advised to soak in cold water before you put in the machine. The heat from the tumble dryer can also shrink your garment, so it is best to lay wool flat and allow to air dry away from sunlight and radiators. Ensure wool garments are clean before storing folded in a cool, dark place.
To prolong the original condition of your product, we recommend cleaning the leather with a dry soft cloth and specialist cleaner. A specialist leather cleaner can be used to remove stubborn stains from leather. Although a leather protector won't safeguard leather from all abrasions, creases, and scuff marks, it is an extra step to take to ensure the leather ages well. Allow to dry, and use a leather protector or conditioner to finish.
As cotton can often be prone to shrinking when it is washed and dried, it is recommended to check the individual care label for each piece and follow the instructions carefully. Generally, cotton should be hand or machine washed at 30°C or below. Colored cotton garments should be turned inside out before washing. Before allowing to air dry naturally, cotton can be gently stretched when they come out of the wash to restore shape.
Fur that has been cared for will last for years, and we would advise getting it properly cleaned yearly by a professional. However, there are also steps that you can take to help maintain the fur. If the fur gets slightly wet; shake out to remove as much water as possible. Allow to dry in a well-ventilated room, away from any direct heat. Once dry, fluff the fur and smooth with your hand. Do not iron fur, as it may burn and cause irreparable damage.Instead, steam the fur to remove any bacteria, wrinkles and odor.Use a cashmere brush to remove lint and hair, as well as rejuvenating the fur’s natural oils. When storing your fur, it is recommended to keep it at a temperature of around 50°C with approximate 50% humidity. Store in a breathable cotton bag, on a broad-shouldered hanger and away from light.
