Before cleaning leather, we recommend removing any large pieces of dirt and dust by dry cleaning with a soft brush. Nothing can completely prevent scratches, scuffs and damage to leather, but a good leather protector will help. Use a waterproofing spray to protect against liquid stains, and apply specialist leather waxes and creams to bring back the shine when needed.
As cotton lacks natural anti-bacterial and odor-resistant properties, it requires more frequent washing. Cotton can sometimes be prone to shrinking when it is washed and dried, and to prevent this happening it is recommended to use water that is 30°C or below, either by hand or in the washing machine. This will help avoid colour fading and dye transfer. Allow to air dry naturally.
Generally, denim can be hand washed in cold water or cleaned in the washing machine. There may be specific styles that are dry clean only. It is worth noting that before denim is washed, the dye from your indigo pieces may rub off on light-colored fabric, leather and upholstery. To make colour last longer, wash inside out with cold water, with like colours. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight, bleach and harsh chemical cleaners. Keep away from direct heat sources when allowing to air dry naturally.
Wool is a soft, natural fibre that can be prone to shrinking if not cared for properly. To maintain the super-soft feel and luxurious feel of your wool garment, we recommend following the instructions on each garment’s care label. Some wool pieces, such as a suit, blazer or coat, would benefit from spot cleaning. Generally, most wool is washable and will need to be turned inside out before being washed at temperatures of 30°C or less using a specialist wool detergent. To reduce the risk of shrinkage, soak your wool item in cold water before machine washing. Dry wool knitwear flat and away from direct heat or sunlight. To ensure a silky, smooth appearance to your wool garment, iron inside-out on a low temperature setting, ideally when it is still damp.
