Founded by Irving and Jack Schott, they started out by making raincoats in their Manhattan basement and sold door to door. Becoming the first company to put a zipper on a jacket, they went on to subsequently design the first Motorcycle jacket, popularised in films like The Wild One and named after Irving's favourite cigar - the Perfecto.
