Founded by Irving and Jack Schott, they started out by making raincoats in their Manhattan basement and sold door to door. Becoming the first company to put a zipper on a jacket, they went on to subsequently design the first Motorcycle jacket, popularised in films like The Wild One and named after Irving's favourite cigar - the Perfecto. Still owned and operated by third and fourth generation Schott family members, 2013 marked the brand's 100th anniversary.
