Sneaker Trends Spotted at Fashion Week

After years of sitting on the sidelines while technical runners and hyped collaborations hogged the spotlight, Vans are absolutely making their comeback.

Authentics, Old Skools, and Slip-Ons are finding their way back underneath loose tailoring, puddling jeans and oversized shorts. They're uncomplicated, unpretentious, and blissfully free of performance jargon.

Those that care about sneakers continue to back styles with slimmer silhouettes and barely-there soles. Terrace trainers, football boots turned street shoes, and motorsport-inspired styles are keeping things sleek. Less bulk; more bite.

Loafer? Runner? Hiking shoe? How about all of the above.

Some of the season's most interesting footwear refused to fit neatly into a single category. New Balance continues to blur the line between sneaker and penny loafer, while Song for the Mute's Adidas collaborations splice together trail shoes, retro runners, and a dose of eccentricity. Brands and dressers alike continue to mine their greatest hits, bringing back classics like the Adidas Stan Smith and Nike Total 90 (both styles also bolstered by the 2026 summer of sport) for a new generation of wearers.

It's evoking nostalgia without feeling costume-y, and familiarity without boredom. The best archival sneakers arrive with decades of cultural cachet already baked in, which is considerably harder to manufacture than hype.
