Color takes on a more deliberate role in menswear for 2026. Rather than just serving as a bold seasonal accent, it becomes a primary driver of mood and identity.

What’s different for this coming year of dressing isn’t just which colors are rising, but how they’re being worn: layered, tonal, and integrated into everyday wardrobes rather than reserved for statement moments. Menswear may be growing up in terms of categories and overall 'vibe', but there's still a playfulness apparent in the colors that we're seeing break through the noise of neutrals.

Ahead, discover the color palette that will define menswear in 2026.

01. It's All Yellow

Yellow had a moment in 2025 (with a +19% spike in searches on Lyst during March), and in the new year we predict this continues, but with an element of maturity. Designers have been leaning into nuanced shades — from soft butter tones to dusty ochres, muted saffron, and deeper marigolds, which has moved the color firmly out of novelty territory.

When anchored by neutrals like charcoal, olive, or navy, yellow becomes surprisingly versatile. Knitwear and outerwear in this deceptively wearable tone act as a quiet lift rather than a loud declaration. It’s optimistic without reading as naive.

02. Red's Confidence Continued

Red’s momentum carries forward into 2026, evolving from accent color to core staple. The emphasis next year is on depth and breadth of tone: oxblood, brick, scarlet, and wine dominate, offering warmth, weight and impact without veering into flashiness. These shades can be woven into tailoring, leather, and knitwear, giving red a grounded, and grown-up sensibility without losing panache.

Rather than commanding attention outright, red now signals confidence through restraint, with an attitude that’s intentional and enduring.

03. Earthy Orange

Orange feels like it's cropping up as one of the more unexpected tones of the season. Muted and earthy rather than electric, shades like burnt orange, clay, and terracotta compliment wardrobe mainstays like browns, creams, and faded denim.

These tones sit well on more textured fabrics like wool, suede and heavy knitwear, where its warmth feels like it's embedded into the clothes rather than just applied on top. When layered or used tonally, these earthy orange tones can add depth to outfits without overwhelming them.

04. The Power of Purple

Purple’s return reflects menswear’s growing comfort within complexity. Tones like soft lavenders, plums, and deep aubergines feel romantic, introspective, gothic, particularly when paired with gray, black, or ecru.

Purple offers an alternative to traditional blues while maintaining a sense of sophistication. It’s expressive, but controlled.

05. Easy Greens

Green is beginning to go further in both range and relevance. From richer toned bottle green to more muted sage, but also vibrant and vivid, the green spectrum bridges the gap between a military-inspired utility and nature-inspired refinement.

Muted greens ground the brighter hues of yellow and orange, while also standing strong on their own in monochrome looks. Its versatility across outerwear, tailoring, and more casual styles makes green one of the most dependable colors for 2026.

The Wider Story

The color story for 2026 is less about shock value and more about confidence. These shades aren’t worn to stand out, but to express clarity of taste and intent.

Menswear is embracing color as something lived-in and layered, not precious or performative. The result is a palette that feels warm, expressive, and deeply wearable.
