Women's White Oyster Silk Scarf – Hand-Dyed Mulberry Silk, Wedding & Bridal Wrap

A pale oyster with a mother-of-pearl sheen, hand-dyed on pure mulberry habotai silk in Nha Xa, the silk village north of Hanoi. Oyster sits a half-step cooler than ivory and a half-step warmer than silver: the shade to reach for when stark white is too much and ivory is not quite right. Each length is dyed in small batches and dried on bamboo frames rather than by machine, so no two pieces are quite identical. At 85 by 180 cm it covers the shoulders through a ceremony, drapes as an evening wrap after dark, and folds small enough to disappear into a clutch. Fine and semi-sheer, with a soft pearl lustre in the weave. Designed in England and presented in a Silk and Bears gift box. Hand wash in cool water with a silk-friendly detergent. Rinse alone on the first wash, as natural dyes settle. Do not soak or wring. Dry flat in the shade; cool iron with a pressing cloth. Colour: white
