The American label Converse has gained international regard and notoriety since it was founded over a century ago. In 1908, Marquis Mill Converse established the Converse Rubber Shoe Company, which gained respect for aligning itself with famous sporting stars over the years, including 30s basketball giant Chuck Taylor. Since then, Converse has continually grown as a label to offer everything from footwear to ready-to-wear for men and women. The aesthetic is one of vintage high-school track, from drawstring track shorts to relaxed sweat shorts.
