Women's Green Dp Luxe Velvet Metallic Jacquard Sleeve Mini Dress

The sleeves are the centrepiece: sheer, voluminous bishop sleeves woven with a metallic jacquard dot pattern that catches the light as you move, contrasting beautifully against the solid velvet body. A delicate ruffled crew neckline adds a refined finish at the collar without overwhelming the overall silhouette. The velvet bodice is fitted through the waist before releasing into a soft, swinging skirt - the kind of shape that moves well on a dance floor without riding up. Mini length sits above the knee, keeping the look fresh while the long sleeves and high neck balance the amount of skin on show. The contrast between the opaque velvet body and the sheer jacquard sleeves gives the dress a two-fabric feel that reads far more considered than a single-texture party dress. The sheer bishop sleeves do all the talking here. Voluminous at the shoulder and tapering to the wrist, they bring drama without the need for statement jewellery or an elaborate neckline. The velvet skirt swings freely from the waist, so this one is just as comfortable at a sit-down dinner as it is on the dance floor. Wear it to a Christmas party or a festive work do, and it will hold its own without looking overdressed. For an evening out, keep footwear sleek - a pointed-toe heel or ankle boot works well - and let the dress lead. A small clutch and minimal earrings are all it needs. It's also a strong choice for a winter birthday celebration or a New Year's Eve gathering where you want to look put-together without resorting to sequins. The model wears hers with soft, natural make-up, which lets the dress speak for itself - a pairing worth noting. | Dorothy Perkins Women's DP Luxe Velvet Metallic Jacquard Sleeve Mini Dress in Forest | Size: 8 Colour: green
