Women's Blue Petite Celestial Velvet Embellished Midaxi Dress

Velvet with a dense, short pile that absorbs light rather than reflecting it - the surface reads as deep and rich from every angle, and the fabric holds its shape through the body without clinging. Three scattered starburst embellishments, each worked in fine metallic beading, sit asymmetrically across the bodice and hip - placed deliberately rather than as an all-over pattern, they draw the eye down the length of the dress. A clean bateau neckline sits wide across the collarbone, keeping the silhouette refined and the shoulders open - no hardware, no embellishment at the neckline to compete with the beadwork below. Sleeveless cut with a close fit through the waist and a straight midaxi hem that falls to mid-calf - the length is particularly well-proportioned for a petite frame, avoiding the pooling that can affect standard sizing. Fully lined for a smooth, comfortable finish against the skin, with no visible fastenings at the front to interrupt the dress's clean front panel. The straight midaxi silhouette does a specific job here: it keeps everything elongated and unfussy, letting the velvet's depth and the beaded starbursts carry the occasion rather than relying on volume or drama in the cut. The dress sits close to the body through the waist without being restrictive, and the hem falls at a length that works well with a strappy heel - exactly as styled on the model. For a black-tie event or a winter wedding, pair with barely-there heeled sandals and simple gold jewellery that echoes the metallic beading without overwhelming it. A sleek updo would keep the wide neckline the focus. For a graduation ceremony or races occasion, a tailored blazer in a tonal shade worn over the shoulders adds polish without hiding the embellishment detail. The absence of sleeves means the dress transitions well between heated venues and cooler evenings with the addition of a wrap or fitted long-line coat. | Oasis Women's Petite Celestial Velvet Embellished Midaxi Dress in Emerald | Size: 6 Colour: blue
