The influential Japanese and Paris-based Yohji Yamamoto, can be defined by a series of contradictions: though renowned for his skill as a tailor, his designs often utilise innovative new shapes that create silhouettes that conceal the body; he often explores the correlation between the male and the female; and though many of his clothes are made in black, these are contrasted with pops of brights. It's this contrast that makes him so revered and this can be seen in his knitwear, typified by graphic lines and asymmetric shapes, oversized silhouettes and flashes of statement prints.
