Originally founded in 1949 as Onitsuka Tiger, Asics is the performance sportswear label created by Kihachiro Onitsuka. Starting out by creating basketball shoes for Japan's rising basketball stars, Onitsuka's innovative approach to sportswear soon became recognised, with his footwear becoming the go-to label from professional athletes. Changing its name to 1879 to Asics, the label continues to focus on combining scientific research with design to create contemporary collections of performance sportswear, featuring a line of sweats including sleeveless hoody tops and jogging bottoms, ideal for working out in style.
