They come complete with a padded ankle for comfort and crossover laces.
Grenson Marley Boots
Grenson takes a fresh approach to the Chelsea boot with its harness-detailed Marley design. Made from luxury leather, they are built on a 645 last, which is more pointed with a slightly higher Cuban heel. The Western-inspired silhouette is finished with a back strap for easy on and off.
The Grenson Boots Sizing Guide
Grenson uses UK sizing for its footwear, and you can use the chart below to see how this correlates with women’s US and EU sizes.
For example, if your usual size is a US 8 or an EU 38, you should take your Grenson boots in a size 5.
Grenson offers different fittings across its men’s and women’s ranges to accommodate those with wide or narrow feet.
D fitting: This is the brand’s standard women’s fitting, and will fit a majority of those with feet that are ‘true to size’.
E fitting: Used in Grenson’s women’s sneaker range and some of the men’s shoes, this fitting is narrow. This will come up too tight if your foot is of average width or slightly wider.
F fitting: As a man’s standard width, this fit is ideal for the majority of men but not if your feet are wider than average.
G fitting: Slightly wider than a standard men’s last, the F and G fit most men’s fit.
How To Care For Your Grenson Boots
Grenson boots are built to last, but the brand does recommend the following tips to ensure they remain looking their best for longer.
Grenson recommends that new leather-soled boots are not worn in wet weather until they have previously been worn about 3-4 times.
If your Grenson boots do get wet, use shoe trees or fill with newspaper to maintain the original boot shape. Leave them to dry naturally for 48 hours, as wet sole leather tends to wear out much quicker than dry sole leather.
To clean boots, wipe with a dry cloth before polishing. A wax polish, will boost shine, while a cream polish adds a layer of protection.
Any Grenson suede or nubuck leather boots can be cleaned with the brand’s Suede Salvation, which creates a water-resistant barrier.
Boots with white wedge soles can be cleaned with the brand’s Cleaning Tonic. Rub onto the side of the soles with a soft cloth, wipe clean and leave to air dry.
- Can you repair Grenson boots?
Grenson boots with a Goodyear-welted sole can easily be repaired with the brand’s repair service. You should be able to tell if your boots are ready for repair once you feel a very soft spot at the front of the shoe as you walk.
- How does Grenson make its boots?
The brand has been crafting shoes since 1866, and all of its shoes are Goodyear Welted. A shoemaking technique from the mid 1800’s, boots that are Goodyear Welted are stronger and longer lasting. The uppers are stitched to a leather band (the welt) and then stitched to the sole.
It takes up to 8 weeks to make a pair of Grenson boots, with over 200 individual steps.
- Do Grenson boots run true to size?
Grenson boots do generally fit true to size, and we recommend taking your usual size.
