Jean Paul Gaultier's rings are as bold and beautiful as his couture and ready-to-wear collections. The French-born designer began his journey aged 13, sketching for his mother and grandmother and later, at the age of 18, sending sketches to Pierre Cardin. After stints working for Cardin, Jacques Esterel and Jean Patou, the designer headed to the Philippines where it's rumoured they loved him so much they wouldn't grant him permission to leave. But he did return to France, creating his first collection in 1976 and launching his eponymous line in 1982. This rich background informs his characterful, offbeat aesthetic - all underpinned with a luxurious edge. Shop the crystal-embellished gold and silver range here.
