Is Menswear at a Crossroads?

Menswear in 2026 feels like it's having a bit of a split. Not in a fragmented or divisive way, but in a deliberate one. On one side, there's a push toward big swings of expression: sharper silhouettes, technicolor palettes, bolder styling, dressing with impactful intent. On the other, a quieter recalibration: softer shapes, reduced palettes, clothes that prioritize longevity over impact.
What's interesting is that neither direction cancels the other out. Instead, they can (and do) coexist even in individual wardrobes. The tension between them is part of what's defining the current feeling in men's dressing — a choice between amplification and reduction, between dressing up and paring back.
Here are two avenues to explore in menswear right now.
