Women's Black Harper's Bazaar Velvet And Satin Mix Slim Leg Trouser

Slim leg cut sits close to the leg from hip to ankle, finishing at a cropped length that sits just above the shoe - a proportion that works particularly well with a heel. The defining detail: a satin stripe runs the full length of the outer seam, borrowing directly from the tuxedo trouser tradition and giving the leg a clean, elongating line. Velvet body contrasted with the satin trim creates a considered mix of textures - the matte depth of the velvet plays against the quiet sheen of the stripe without competing. Cotton-rich composition is breathable and soft against the skin, so the trousers sit comfortably through a full evening without feeling restrictive. A slim split at the hem adds a subtle opening at the ankle - just enough to ease the fit over a pointed-toe court shoe. The silhouette here is precise and intentional - slim through the thigh and tapering neatly to the ankle, the kind of cut that reads as thoroughly considered rather than simply fitted. The cropped length is not accidental; it creates a visual break that draws the eye down and makes even a modest heel feel decisive. The satin side stripe is the real point of difference, turning what could be a straightforward velvet trouser into something with a clear evening reference. It nods to black-tie dressing without committing to it fully, which is exactly where its strength lies. Pair with the matching velvet blazer as shown for a co-ordinated occasion look, or wear the trousers separately with a silk blouse and patent court shoes for a formal dinner or theatre night. This is a trouser built for events that call for a degree of ceremony - a wedding reception, a gala, a smart end-of-year celebration - where polish is expected but a conventional dress feels too obvious. | Karen Millen Harper's Bazaar Velvet and Satin Mix Slim Leg Trouser in Black | Size 10 Colour: black
