Women's Metallic Cream And Oxblood Mookaite Rectangle Pendant Necklace On Leather Cord

This mookaite pendant necklace holds a broad, rounded rectangle cabochon of natural mookaite jasper in a sterling silver bezel. The stone is banded straight across in olive, a line of oxblood, cream and a dark base, and it is cut so the layers read level. A sterling silver bail with a small dot detail carries it on a black leather cord with a lobster clasp and a two inch extender. The stone measures about 1. 25 inches, and the pendant sits low on the sternum, where it reads from across a room. Mookaite comes from the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia, where silica from ancient seabed hardened into chert and iron left its colour in level bands. The piece is nickel-free and lead-free. Wear it with a white shirt or a simple knit for a quiet, earthy line. Keep the necklace dry and remove it before swimming, bathing, perfume, lotion or oils. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store it flat, apart from harder pieces. Sterling silver tarnishes over time, so use a silver polishing cloth and keep it off the stone.
