To prolong the original condition of your product, we recommend cleaning the leather with a dry soft cloth and specialist cleaner. Persistent stains can be removed with a specialist leather cleaner. Although a leather protector won't safeguard leather from all abrasions, creases, and scuff marks, it is an extra step to take to ensure the leather ages well. A specialist leather wax and cream can be applied to bring back shine when needed.
As cotton lacks natural anti-bacterial and odor-resistant properties, it requires more frequent washing. As cotton is prone to shrinkage, it’s best to clean in water that is 30°C or below. This will help avoid colour fading and dye transfer. Allow to air dry naturally, and give garments a gentle stretch to restore shapes as soon as they come out of the wash.
Washing inside out in cold water with a mild detergent is advised. However, we would always recommend following the specific instructions on the care label that is stitched into every garment. It is worth noting that before denim is washed, the dye from your indigo pieces may rub off on light-colored fabric, leather and upholstery. To make colour last longer, wash inside out with cold water, with like colours. Denim should not be left in direct sunlight, as this can cause discoloration. Avoid using a tumble dryer, instead hang your garment indoors to air dry naturally.
Before attempting to clean wool, we would always recommend checking the garment’s care label to ensure the cleaning method you plan to use will not cause shrinkage. Most wool is washable, with the main exception of structured pieces like suits, jackets and blazers, which are best spot cleaned. Otherwise, most wool can be either hand washed, or washed in the machine on a gentle cycle of 30°C or less, using a mild PH neutral detergent and turned inside out first. To reduce the risk of shrinkage, soak your wool item in cold water before machine washing. The heat from the tumble dryer can also shrink your garment, so it is best to lay wool flat and allow to air dry away from sunlight and radiators. Ensure wool garments are clean before storing folded in a cool, dark place.
